ALWAYS NEW.

16.ALWAYS_NEW

Have you ever noticed how you like change when you’re in a ‘rough patch’, but you’re not so keen when things are going ‘good’ . . . ? And have you ever noticed how neither one of these feels fully comfortable….?

This has nothing to do with change, and everything to do with your relationship to change.

Change itself isn’t necessarily comfortable or uncomfortable . . . What brings up the discomfort, is when we resist the undulating movements of life, tying ourselves to an outside anchor. An anchor that is either a perceived brilliant now, that we would like to hold on to, OR, a now that is different from this one here, where we would most certainly rather be. And so, when things ‘change’, it feels like we are either being ‘wrenched from‘, or ‘pulled towards‘ something. In tying ourselves to this outside anchor, we fix to one spot, from which, or towards which, we change. We set up a ‘to’ and a ‘from’, a ‘good’ and a ‘bad’, a ‘comfortable’ and an ‘uncomfortable’ – a self-created system of classification and comparison, which WE are then at the mercy of. And yet we have the choice, to recognise this self-created anchoring, and choose to let go.

It’s a little like we’ve tied our shoe laces together, and either we have to stay still for fear of tripping, OR we rip apart the knot as we’ve already tripped.

There is however another way . . .

– How would it be to release ourselves from the tensions around change?

– How would it be to recognise that WE are the anchor, and life is ALWAYS NEW?

– How would it be to step back, and marvel at the continual movements of life?

Movement is just movement remember . . . Recognise that YOU are your own anchor, and that life is constantly revealing, ALWAYS NEW.

You are, always were, and always will be, free.
