75.ATTENTION_TO_ATTENTION

WHERE, are you placing your attention … ?

HOW, are you placing your attention … ?

We are (always) giving our attention somewhere – to something, to someoneAnd, we are always placing our attention in a certain way.

Can we become more lovingly attentive to the ways of our attention … ?

Can we be kinder as we place our precious ‘gaze’ … ?

Our attention — the placing of our attention, the focus of our attention, the quality of our attention —truly matters.

Rippling through our experience, rippling on through the experience of those around us ……. the way we choose to place our attention reverberates – widening in to the expanses of this Now moment, permeating our experience, and permeating the experiences of those around us also.

So PAUSE, just a moment.

Become aware of the movements of your attention …………… how it drifts, where it wanders – how it sleeps, where it tends – how it judges, where it lingers – how it welcomes you home, where it invites you deeper.

Notice.

– Has your attention the tendency to flit around, from hereto thereto everywhere, or can you rest your loving ‘gaze‘ on to just this?

– Is there an overwhelm as you attempt to ‘do it all‘ at breakneck speed, giving your attention everywhere and nowhere, or can you slow it down, quietening the thinking, giving your attention right here?

– Does your thinking gravitate to unsupportiveunkind trains of thought, or can you soften, look anew, and see with love what is here?

– Are you placing your attention with carewith kindnesswith lovewith gracewith joy, or are you not even aware that you are choosing where and how you are placing your attention in every moment?

PAUSE ……………………… Become aware of the choices you are making.
PAUSE ……………………… Be present to the simplicity of what IS here, Now

This word, this book, this tree, this bird, this sky, this being, this colour, this sound, this scent, this silence.

As we become more aware of the wanderings of our mind, we allow ourselves the opportunity to quieten the excess ‘noise‘ and come home to what is really going onTaking care, as we place our attention. Witnessing, as the subtle ripples echo out in every moment. Demonstrating love, for ourselves, and for those around us, as we clearly (and lovinglychoose where and how we place our attention in every moment.

Let go of ‘trying‘ to pay attention, and just BE PRESENT – ‘doing‘ less, as supposed to more.

Give your attention to where you are, and to those you are with, fully.

And, be curious ………… Be present, and be curious, to all things.
