‘Bored‘ with what we think we know … bored with ‘this‘.
‘Distracted‘ with and by every little thing … distracted, no matter what.
Endlessly searching for the new.
Endlessly searching for the slippery, volatile ‘that‘, with its raucous promises of instant relief.
As we twirl around, round and around, looking for all that is ‘new‘ for our eyes to feast upon ……… we run from now.
Seeking for all that is different from what is now, for all that is not now, we step ourselves on to a never-ending roller coaster that is in pursuit of an illusive ‘better now‘. Like an insatiable craving, we go from one thing to the next, to the next, to the next, to the next . . . never pausing to truly invest in THIS Now, never pausing to truly rest in to WHAT IS Now. Distracting ourselves, on and on, with one voracious and insistent “what next?” at a time.
Addicted to the fizziness (and the fuzziness) of the superficial new, exhaustedly racing towards one ‘advert‘ or another, one ‘shiny object‘ after another . . . Each cloaked in the promise of completeness, each demanding our attention as it proposes to be the place where our cravings will finally be satiated. Without pausing long enough to become aware that we are bound in the search for ‘the new‘, blind to The Now, we keep on restlessly moving. No moment to breathe, no moment to look deeper than the surface shine and see the true wonder-full-ness of the ‘bare bones’ of Now.
Twirled in a loop, we simply forgot …………… Forgot that ALL IS already here, Now.
So can we take a pause, and finally stand HERE?
Can we pause, and really COMMIT TO NOW?
Witnessing as it expands. Witnessing as you calm the racing, the running, the seeking, the distracting. Witnessing as you relax in to the infinite, joyous nature of Now.
Pause entertaining the eyes with ‘bright shiny newness‘, and COMMIT – Really commit to the infinite depths of Now.
