What if it is only in extending love, that we experience love ?
Now, there are no ‘what ifs‘ to this question really. Indeed, it isn’t really a question at all … not really.
Love isn’t a separate ‘something‘, cut off from everyone and everything (yourself included). A thing that exists all by itself, experienced in isolation.
Like reaching out our hand, as we extend to another from a space of love, we open ourselves in tothe experience of love . . . In giving to others, we at once give to ourselves.
We can of course choose, to keep seemingly separate. Squirrelling away all that we hungrily grasp on to as our own, for fear it will be lost. Keeping back what we blindly imagine others will take from us, for fear that all things are limited. Hiding what is soft, delicate, vulnerable, for fear it will (we will) be trampled upon or rejected.
As we take a step back however, we see more clearly …………. We see, that it is only in the grasping that we percive that there is anything that can be lost. We see, that it is only in the holding back that there is any notion of separateness. We see, that it is only in hiding that we trample upon and reject our own Selves, dampening down all that we are, diminishing ourselves for fear of being seen.
And so, as we step back and see the self-perpetuating bind more clearly, we begin to see that nothing that IS, can be lost. As we un-grip from our inaccurate impressions, we open ourselves to extend from a space of love. Opening, from my heart to your heart.
Just like dominos, one echoing in to another.
Like loudspeakers, amplifying for more ears to hear.
Just like the wave that ripples on, causing wave after wave to come in to vibration.
As we extend, from a space of love, everyone feels loved …….. the ripple extending on and on, and at the same time, the ripple extending its way back to you.
So what if you were to EXTEND LOVE, without fear or judgement … right Now? What if you were to extend, who you truly are …… ?
And you are extending something —– So pause, pay attention, and extend with love.
