I DON’T KNOW.

20.I_DONT_KNOW

You know when you feel clear? When you have a clear knowing of where, or what, or how? When things feel like a warm YES in your heart, and with this comes an easea calma peacea trusta knowing . . . ? The mind feels uncluttered and unconfused, and there is no other ‘thing’ hovering around pulling you about? This is when things are CLEAR.

Sometimes however, we aren’t so clear. We feel just the opposite. We don’t know whether to turn left or right. Whether to choose this one or that one. Whether or how, what or when something is (or isn’t) going to work out… There is confusion, there is tightness, there is noise, there is urgency. There is an almost unrelenting obsession around making THE ‘right’ decision. No space. No vitality. No freedom . . . Things are not clear.

Clarity doesn’t arrive when we squeeze the life out of thinking. Clarity arises when we allow SPACE.

When we drop in to the unknown with the willingness to recognise that “i don’t know”, this is when we open. This is the moment when the small ‘i’ gets bumped out of the waywhen we get out of our own way and rest in to something far bigger than we ever could have imagined.

In recognising and resting in to the “i don’t know”, we give permission for NEW DEEPER KNOWING to flow through.

Can you still yourself a while, quietening the ongoing discussion that attempts in vain to figure out every last detail…? Can you relax the tension just a little, with the willingness to recognise that “i don’t know” right now…? Can you become comfortable with this unknown…? Can you find ease in this not (yet) knowing…? In fact, can you fully embrace it…?!

Be willing to recognise when you don’t know, and then relax. Relax the thinking and learn to TRUST in to what you don’t quite know yet, knowing that as you rest in to the calm you will be guided towards clarity.

And remember, the clue is in how you’re feeling . . . uptight and urgent, or CALM and FREE.
